Durham Geo is the exclusive dealer for Barnstead- Thermolyne’s NCAT Asphalt Content Tester in the states of Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. The NCAT Asphalt Content Tester allows accurate asphalt content of bituminous paving mixes in 30 to 40 minutes without using messy and dangerous solvents. The unit has three main components: a muffle furnace chamber in which test specimens up to 4000 grams are heated to 1000 ºF (534º C); a base housing an electronic balance and internal computer that controls the burn and collects and displays the data; and an upper chamber heated to 700 ºC to remove any unburned exhaust gases. The Barnstead-Thermolyne NCAT oven is the only one on the market that was proven in a 12 lab round robin test and in over a 1000 labs worldwide. An accessory kit is included with each oven consisting of 4-sample baskets, 2 trays, 2 covers, latching handling mechanism, cooling cage, insulated plate, heavy heat protection gloves, face shield, 4 rolls of printer tape and balance calibration plate.
